  • The hospital in Vélez-Málaga now has 70 new beds for coronavirus patients after the dining room was moved to a tent outside

The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) has enabled 70 new beds for patients with Covid-19 and nine in the intensive care unit to face the increased pressure from the pandemic on the hospital.

Last Friday there were 45 patients in the hospital with the disease and, of these, six were in the intensive care unit.

In addition, a separate circuit has been created in the emergency area for patients with and without Covid-19.

The hospital does not rule out having to set up other areas to attend to the anticipated increase in coronavirus cases in the coming days.
